Newark Antiques Fair, Arundel Eccentrics Paint Courses & Nass Interiors

Good Morning from Arundel.

Newark Antique Fair

We left the house at silly o'clock yesterday and went up north to
Newark Antique Fair.

Its a few years since we have been up there and, to be honest, wasn't as large as it used to be.

This reminded me of my son Jay, who, as a child, had a rather bedraggled Roland Rat he carried around everywhere with him.

It's a bit of a hike fromArundel.
Around 4 hours drive both ways.

We bought a few items and made a few contacts.
So it was worth the trip.

I was told, for any dealers who are thinking of visiting from abroad,
that the October fair promises to be huge.
Aparently, its all to do wih Lincoln fair not being on at the same time,
many dealers normally go from one to the other.
In October it does correspond and hence a busy, busy, fair.

Anyway, don't quote me on it!
Its just something I was told.

Newark Antique Fair is run by the same people as Ardingly.
If you go to

you can get all the dates to all their fairs.

Nass and Russell
or
NASS INTERIORS

(Nass was previously part of  Harmony Trading)

have gone to Tetbury today,
another great antique buying paradise.

They are delivering antiques for an antique dealer.
If you need any antique items
 moved around in the south
they are your men.

Although I say it myself,
they are both quite charming,
and are good at what they do.

Here is their email and contact number for collections and deliveries

Painted Enamel

Today, I need to get on with all this vintage enamel
I have been painting and decorating in readiness for Ardingly at the beginning of September.

Also, we have recieved many orders
as a result of this piece in
House & Garden this month.

The Arundel Festival promises
to be busy over this weekend,
being a Bank Holiday
the town will be buzzing.

We are going to watch the bands
 in Jubilee Gardens tonight,
which should be fun.

One of our friends is playing,
"Screamin' Les"

So I shall be there with my camera.

Here are all the details of our latest paint workshops and a bit about us

They are more travelled than we are.

with Alison Steadman, the actress

If you would like to learn how to
paint & distress,
wax and age,
crackle and craquelure
decoupage,
& gild

make an old piece of furniture you
found lying unloved,
looking seriously
destined for the rubbish tip,
into, at the most, a work of art
& treasured heirloom
at the very least
very much more beautiful than it did.

At the same time, enjoying
the tranquillity
of our
Riverside Studio
in the beautiful,
country town of Arundel,
where
you will be learning in small classes,
with refreshments including
a vegetarian lunch and a glass of wine.

Let us know.

Give us an idea of what you
would like to learn
&
some dates that would suit you.

We will try our very best
to tailor the day,
or days around you.

If you would like a weekend break,
we can help you find a room
at one of our local
b&b's,
many of which are based in
some of the most
glorious houses in
Arundel's picturesque old town.

9.30 am until 5 pm
£95 per day

The dates for the Autumn are above;

We've done it in a slightly different way.
These are the dates and if you want to come on a workshop,
dive in quick and let us know the date that suit you.
Tell us what course you would like to do.
That will be the allotted course for that day.

We realise every one is busy these days.
It's difficult trying to find time to turn around sometimes.

So, we thought it easier to say when we can do a course.
It doesnt matter to us which one we do, on which day.
BUT it will matter to you, if you short on time,
and trying to fit in a precious day.

Have a great day.
