This week and Arundel's festival.

this week

Mothers Day on Sunday.
I'm told my lovely Jay and his wife Krista
have sent a parcel for me.

We miss them terribly.
They live in California,
with their gorgeous new baby.

Isn't she just beautiful?
Lets hope it wont be too long before we get there.

A Drinking Group with a writing problem

Our creative writing group got
 together for the "Guvnor's" birthday.

The Guvnor set up the group and is our mentor.
He was for many
years a journalist with the Sunday Times.
He is the loveliest man with
 the driest sense of humour.
Probably had to have in his job.

He didn't know we were arranging
 our little festive soiree.
We sprang it on him.
He seemed to enjoy it.

We  had a great evening.
A li'l aperitif in The White Hart Pub

followed by dinner at The Red Lion.

Its always  such fun when we get together.

We have been described a
" A drinking group with a writing problem"

Ha Ha

This week, in Arundel,
there was a Chamber of Commerce
 meeting regarding
Arundel by Candlelight.

Apart from the Arundel Festival,
its the biggest event of the year.

If you've never been, its a date for your diary.
It's a Christmas event, usually in the first couple of weeks of December.
Seems a long way off hey?
The way the years flying along, it will be here before we know it.

The town bursts at the seams.
It is so big, it takes the organisers a good few months to pull together.

We have the Arundel Festival before that.

The festival always runs for around 10 days at the end of August.
The town has one huge party.
Art trails, music, theatre trails, Shakespeare at the castle, buskers and concerts.
Street theatre, bath tub races and helicopter rides.
Ghost tours and walking tours.
Boat tours up the Arun.
Phew.....

Workshops

I had a great workshop yesterday.
A lovely woman called Vivien.
She was lucky as it was just her.
I was lucky as she was such easy company.
One to one tuition.
We managed to finish all the items she brought
to work on and introduced her to crackle glaze,
 craquelure, gilding, decoupage.

I'm not sure how we managed
it as we didn't stop talking.

If you fancy coming along for a day,
do let me know.
